Age: CB24, Babies
Sex: Unsexed
Priced Individually
Handling: Amphibians are best kept as a display pet and infrequently handled using gloves due to their sensitive and absorbent skin
Suitability: Intermediate keepers
Average Adult Size: Up to 2 inches
Lifespan: 5 to 8 years
Natural Habitat: Montane forests and other varied habitats of Ecuador
Enclosure recommendations
Marsupial Frogs can be kept in groups. The minimum enclosure size for up to 3 frogs is a 45×45×60cm glass terrarium. A thermostatically controlled heat mat should be attached to an outside wall of the enclosure, or alternatively overhead heating can be used. UV lighting is recommended.
These frogs do well in a bioactive, live-planted enclosure with plenty of naturalistic hides and climbing opportunities, as well as a water bowl that is refreshed daily. Humidity levels of 70-80% should be provided with plenty of ventilation to prevent the environment becoming stagnant or constantly wet.
