Family-run reptile shops in the UK

Hello from Jenna, Kyle and family! We run Jungle Reptiles along with our team of reptile enthusiasts.

A bit more about us…

We are a family run business specialising in reptile and exotic animal care. We cater towards the dietary requirements of reptiles in the form of live foods, frozen food and dry food as well as all the housing, electrical and species-specific decor you may need for your animals.

Our main goal is to ensure we are constantly educating and keeping ourselves and our customers up to date with the latest advances in reptile keeping. 5-star welfare has always been the main priority within our business and we want to make sure that the animals we keep and sell not only survive within their new homes but also continue to thrive.

We always push for naturalistic and well enriched care, whilst also being sympathetic towards everyone’s financial and personal situations. We provide full specialist setups where we have carefully compiled all the best equipment, whilst still providing budget friendly options. We want to match people with their perfect reptile companions, so coming in and chatting with one of our qualified and friendly staff members is the best way for us to advise on what would suit you best.

We provide a number of services in store, ranging from sexing, nail clipping, holiday boarding, basic health checks, as well as equipment assembly services. We also provide a rehoming service as we understand that situations can change and we want to provide a non-judgement zone to ensure we do the best we can for these animals and get them into new homes.

You can find us in two locations: Iver and Moss End. We appreciate every customer who has purchased from us, and we want to make sure everyone has the right knowledge and tools needed when buying an animal — as well as further offering our knowledge and help for the future.

Love from all of us here at The Jungle Reptiles x

Meet our reptile experts

Jenna

I've been keeping reptiles for most of my life and started breeding a lot of the more common species kept today while still keeping and breeding things like Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos and boas. I have a very extensive collection of Crested Geckos and really enjoy the huge array of colour mutations the species has to offer. I also keep and breed new Caledonian gecko species, and a fair few leaf tailed geckos (uroplatus). I really enjoy keeping and breeding a lot of the madagascan species too, including the Chameleons and Dumerils boas.

I opened the Jungle Reptiles in Iver in 2007 and since then have opened a shop in Bourne End and now more recently Moss End. Together with my team of reptile enthusiasts we strive to set a good example of how to keep reptiles in captivity for others to see and replicate in naturalistic and bio active enclosures.

With a history in exotic mammal and equine care, I originally joined Jungle Reptiles as a volunteer wanting to diversify my knowledge before my animal management studies. I fell in love with the store, the people and of course the animals — choosing to become full time and learn practically while on the job.

Now I am proud of my extensive animal collection and multiple breeding projects all supported by the store. I have a particular soft spot for those with a sob story or anything big and cuddly.

I’ve always had a large interest in reptiles from a young age and I was finally able to get one of my own back in 2022, a sweet western hognose called Nala. From that point onwards my collection of little critters has been ever-growing.

Initially, my interest in animal care was more focused on veterinary science, particularly in the study of felines. However, during my animal management course, I found myself intrigued by the exotics and welfare modules.

This led me to start volunteering at The Jungle Reptiles, where my love for different species continued to flourish.

One of my personal favourites is the Tokay Gecko. I believe they are very misunderstood and undeservedly get a bad reputation due to their temperament. I’m fascinated by their morphs and the striking contrast between their natural and "fired-up" pigments. I also have a soft spot for Royal Pythons, especially when they are super cuddly.

Working at Jungle Reptiles is incredibly rewarding. There's something special about seeing the look on people's faces when I introduce them to one of our animals, and they realise it might be their next pet.

I also take great pride in educating and inspiring customers to expand their knowledge, ensuring they create the best possible environment for their reptiles to thrive in. Being given the opportunity to influence how people care for these unique animals is something I deeply value.

Matt

From a very young age anything with scales has fascinated me, starting off keeping royal pythons, which led to breeding, which is where my interest grew learning and expanding with genetics.

Since then I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide array of reptiles and amphibians, now specialising in locality colubrids and salamanders.

Most of my time now is spent breeding ICUN listed amphibian species, making sure there’s a plentiful amount within captive care.

I am most proud of my work with Alytes amongst some Central American Ambystoma ssp. I also strive to learn in depth about each species to make sure their husbandry standards mimic wild conditions.

Since joining Jungle Reptiles my love for the commonly kept reptiles has grown even more, and I strive to educate new keepers entering the hobby.
