Azureus Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates tinctorius)

Unsexed, Captive bred and hatched 2023

Don’t let the name scare you, poison dart frogs are only dangerous when they consume their wild diet. In captivity they are safe to keep, although we avoid touching them unless essential for the frogs well-being, as their skin is very absorbent.

A sought-after dart frog species which never fails to impress with its vibrant blue colouring. A great larger species suitable for beginners and experts alike, this species is active and very visible in their enclosures. Fully bioactive enclosures are always stunning in their own right but with a group of these guys they really come to life!

As a larger species we would recommend a larger enclosure especially when keeping groups of more than 3. Generally groups of 3 and under do well in 2ft enclosures such as the Exo Terra Medium Range.
