Age: CB23
Sex: Male
Captive bred: CB23
Size range: 24” - 36”
Housing and habitat: 2ft setup or larger as an adult, arid type setup with a basking spot of 30 - 32c
Suitable for: beginners
They require similar care to corns but at a reduced size being one of the smaller species we regularly stock and produce in house. Males often average 2 ft whereas females grow to around 3 ft so a vivarium of similar length works perfectly for them.
This species is known as rear-fanged venomous - a scary name for a not so scary adaptation - they use a bacteria in their mouths to improve their hunting odds.
This can act similarly to a bee sting with some people being allergic and more prone to swelling and itching of the bite site. That being said this species isn’t overly bitey and is more likely to give a warning head butt if provoked.
