Currently for sale in our Iver reptile shop
Sex: Male
Morph: Normal with markers for Toffeebelly
Captive bred : yes
Handling: Lovely to handle and super friendly
Size range: females will average 28 - 36” at maturity where males reach between 14-24”
Housing and habitat: 3ft wooden vivarium as adult with an arid type setup with a basking spot of 30 - 32c
Suitable for: beginners
Similar care to corns but at a reduced size being one of the smaller species we regularly stock and produce in house. Males average only 2 ft with females growing to around 3 ft so a vivarium of similar length works perfectly for them.
This species is known as rear-fanged venomous - a scary name for a not so scary adaptation - they use a bacteria in their mouths to improve their hunting odds.
This can act similarly to a bee sting with some people being allergic and more prone to swelling and itching of the bite site. That being said this species isn’t overly bitey and is more likely to give a warning head butt if provoked.
